Can it get any mushier?

Last night while I had my daughter tucked in my arms, I made the mistake of watching an episode of Oprah that was all about love. 5 minutes into the love story of one couple who met while the husband was in a Nazy concentration camp only to be reunited years later in the US on a blind date, I started bawling, tears streaming down my face and onto my poor baby and squeezing her probably a little too tightly. Luckily she didn’t wake up from her nap until 45 minutes later and I vowed to stay away from mushy stuff for the next few days.

Yeah right. I was reading an online article about owls. Mundane story you say? Nope – turns out it’s mushy story #2. According to the Daily Mail, a group of baby owls who were only a few weeks old became orphaned and alone. Two of them were almost mauled to death by a pair of cats, another was found lying on the edge of a busy road and the last one was wandering through a bike path in the forest.

Not sad enough for ya? Well get this, luckily these little munchkins were rescued and are being cared for until their old enough to return to the wild. Here’s the kicker, (get your tissues ready) the tiny owls were given a surrogate Owl Mommy (a stuffed animal) and the chicks burrow under the fluffy toy's wings to keep warm.

Okay, time to log off, head home and hug my baby.
